indie game shout out: Neverdaunt 8Bit

October 26, 2011

I’ve only played roughly five minutes of it but I am in love with this game. You should all be playing it.

Neverdaunt is a dream like world of floating Islands and falling stars where nearly anything can happen. 8Bit refers to the era of computers with eight bit processors. N8* parodies the graphics style these computers were capable of and 8Bit also refers to N8* being a kind of Neverdaunt lite.
N8* is an online massively multiplayer virtual sandbox, A place to play, make friends, be creative and competitive.

I’ll probably post more about it later just because I think it is awesome. For now let me just say that my player name is ThatOtherPerson so if you see me in game being my incompetent self then come over and say hi.

indie game shout out: The Prophecy

December 3, 2010

The Prophecy is a Castlevania style side scrolling brawler for Wii that I was making in collaboration with Ezekiel Rage and the first level of it is now available. But I can’t take any credit for it. I’m doubtful about how much if any of what I wrote remains in the game. Even the collision system has a different feel to it (as much as I love me some smooth sliding circle on rectangle collision I’ll confess that the more rigid and responsive collision in place now makes more sense for this game style). I moved on from it to focus more on PS3 stuff and Ezekiel got another developer called Daid to finish up the programing side of things. Which has clearly worked out for the best. Not only is it more complete then when I last contributed but its undeniably better. I’ve only tried it out on PC so far but I feel comfortable saying that its probably the best original homebrew game made for Wii so far. I highly recommend downloading it.

indie game shout out: Stream

July 19, 2010

RekcahDam (who contributed the music for They Do Not Die and Dance Clone and perhaps more famously worked on Wings of Apocalypse and rComplex) recently released a new PC game titled Stream.

Stream is a experimental game project some friends and I have been working on. It sports a some side scrolling shooter elements but the main theme of Stream is time travel. You play as a guerilla soldier who wont stop until he completes his mission.

But just remember that even once you complete the game you can never be too safe.
