The Untitled Project v0.3 – Wii & Windows

Here is a small update to The Untitled Project. Now you can actually collect the rotating squares and the game will keep track of how many you have found and save when you get one. Elevators will now stop if you are in the way instead of just crushing you and pushing you past the floor or ceiling of the building. Darkness/fog has been added. There have been a number of mostly unnoticeable changes to the geometry of the world (some for gameplay reasons and some to lower the polygon count). The game now uses the standard Wii cursor graphic and has a home/pause menu.

The PC version has some things that are still missing from the Wii version. Most noticeably it has a minimap. The game world is larger and the islands shape is randomized (it is consistently square on Wii). The PC version also has several in game controls assigned to the number keys that exist only for testing purposes.

Against my better judgement (this never works out well) I have decided to try and involve other people in making the game. Specifically I’m looking for someone to set the texture coordinates for the models used in the environment. Go here if you are interested in helping.

    Thaks for that guy !
    A pretty game again !!! 😀

  2. Cid2mizard says:

La sauvegarde lors de la collectes cause un temps d’arrêt très gênant, ça gâche totalement le gameplay.

  3. Dylan says:

i’ve dl’d a bit of your stuff and i like it so far! especially the more recent 3d stuff. reminds me of minecraft, and makes me think a minecraft would be do-able on wii. anyway, why works on so many projects at once? why not stick to one? they all have potential imo.

p.s. great music in the hero game 😀

I get sick of working on games quickly. I would go insane if if I had to work on a single game until I finished it without taking a break to working on something different.

Any luck with the lights on wii?

  5. Cid2mizard says:

No changes for save on wii ?

  6. Pedro Afonso says:

I have been following your tutorials and downloading some of your stuff.

are you still working on this project, but for the ps3?
if so, the windows source code is the same as the ps3, or wii?

hello … I’m trying to edit images, but can not get it to work …
I’m using Blender 2.58 and edit the textures using GIMP.
mmm, when I export the. obj and try to use it on Windows, the game does not run.
what options I have to be activated at the time of import. obj in Blender? and what options I have turned to export?
What 3D program do you use??
I would like to edit. obj in Blender but not the right way to import and export, I hope you can help me.

I got the update via Homebrew Browser for the Wii, and when I launch the game all I get is a black screen.

    • ThatOtherDev says:

I downloaded the copy that is on the Homebrew Browser and it doesn’t seem to differ from the one I posted.

Have you tried deleting, re downloading and re running it?

Are you loading it from an SD card or USB storage device? What is that storage device formatted as (FAT, NTFS, etc)? Do you have any other USB devices plugged in? Anything plugged into the GameCube ports? Are you using NTSC or PAL?

You can never provide too much information when reporting an error. Without knowing in what way your system my differ from mine I can’t really do anything to help. All I can say is that it consistently works fine for me.

      • Joey says:

I’ll remove all of the extra device that are plugged into the Wii and not being used, then I’ll try re-downloading.

  9. WhyDoYouNeedItSoBad? says:

Excuse me, but when I try to load it from the wii all I get is a black screen of eternal blackness… what I’m trying to say is it doesn’t. Any reason?

    • WhyDoYouNeedItSoBad? says:

Sorry, but my dumb@§$ doesn’t know how to finish sentences. I MENT to say it’s not working. Not “it doesn’t” XP

      • ThatOtherDev says:

As I said to the commenter above, you are providing insufficient information. I don’t know why it isn’t working for you. It would help me if I knew what makes your Wii different from mine (on which the game does work).

        • owen says:

I think its the version that is currently on the homebrew browser’s server, it doesn’t work for me either. It may have downloaded/unzipped incorrectly or something, I’m not sure.

  10. SilverKamon says:

Hey, I downloaded the game and it won’t start. I downloaded the first version and it was great and worked fine, but now it just doesn’t start up and i have to reset my wii to get it running. Am I not waiting long enough for it to load? Or is there a problem? Please let me know asap. Thanks and keep up the good work!

    • SilverKamon says:

oops, sorry i was dumb and didnt notice the comment above, i thought they went from top to bottom. I dont think our wiis are any different. youd think mine would work because i got mine around when the wii first came out, so there may be something there. I guess it could be anything 😛 good luck in fixing it. if i did something wrong let me know.
